Motorcyclist dies after hitting a wall in Plymouth

A motorcyclist has died after crashing into a wall in Plymouth.

The man, who was in his forties, was taken to the city's Derriford Hospital where he later died, police said.

The accident happened on Mannamead Road, at the junction with Seymour Road, at about 04:15 BST on Sunday. Officers have appealed for witnesses.

Police confirmed their investigations were ongoing and that the road had reopened after being closed for several hours.

Det Supt Iain Grafton said: "It appeared the man had failed to negotiate the junction correctly."
