Boat fire closes Devon's M5 carriageways at junction 30

Both carriageways of the M5 in Devon were closed after a boat being towed by a car caught fire, police have said.

The incident happened on the west-bound carriageway at junction 30, near Exeter, at about 17:30 BST on Friday.

Police said the boat contained a gas cylinder and firefighters tackled the fire and ensured it posed no risk.

One lane, west-bound, remained closed into the evening.
