A diver has died after being pulled unconscious from the water near Breakwater Fort in Plymouth Sound.
Brixham Coastguard co-ordinated the rescue after the alarm was raised by the dive boat Topgun on Saturday at 11:25 GMT.
The 54-year-old man, who is from Milton Keynes, was taken ashore by Plymouth's all-weather lifeboat.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said the man's next of kin had been informed.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
