M5 crash near Exeter kills man

A man died when he was hit by a lorry on a stretch of the M5 in Devon.

The incident happened between junction 30 and 31, near Exeter, at about 11:00 GMT.

The man was in his 60s and died at the scene, said Devon and Cornwall Police. The driver of the lorry was not injured in the incident.

Two lanes of the northbound carriageway were closed while police investigated. The road was reopened after about six hours.
