Woman killed in A30 road tree crash near Honiton

A 40-year-old woman was killed when the car she was in came off a main road in Devon and hit a tree.

The woman, from the Paignton area, was a passenger in a Hyundai when it left the A30 at Rawridge, near Honiton, at about 22:50 BST on Monday.

The driver, a 43-year-old man from Torquay, was taken to hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

The road was closed for six hours for a police investigation.
