Hatherleigh sub station fault cuts power to 3,500 homes

Thousands of people were left without power after a fault at an electrical sub station in Devon.

Western Power Distribution confirmed about 3,500 households in the Hatherleigh area lost their supplies at about 09:30 BST.

Residents in Highampton, Jacobstowe and Broadwoodkelly were affected.

A Western Power spokesperson said engineers had restored power to most homes and the remainder should have their supply back by midday.
