An image of an attempted rape suspect has been released by police in Devon.

Police want to speak to the man after a woman was grabbed and sexually assaulted on Alphington Road, Exeter at about 02.30 BST on Sunday 29 July.

The suspect is described as white, in his 40's, 5ft 10ins (1.77m) tall with pitted skin, dark eyes, short dark hair and stubble.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police or contact Crimestoppers.

Police said the woman managed to defend herself by punching the man in the face causing him to run off.

At the time of the offence the man was wearing a black hip length jacket, dark blue jeans and trainers.
