Boy trapped down rock hole rescued from Sidmouth beach

A 10-year-old boy has been rescued after becoming stuck down a 20ft (6m) hole in rocks in Devon.

The boy became trapped as he was climbing over the rocks at Sidmouth beach at about 17:20 BST on Sunday, coastguards said.

A coastguard rescue team from Beer pulled him out using ropes.

"He was quite frightened, but his father was talking to him to keep him calm before he was rescued," a Portland Coastguard spokeswoman said.
