North Devon wind farm public inquiry reopens

A public inquiry into wind turbines in north Devon has been reopened.

The application for nine turbines, each about 100m (328ft) high at Batsworthy Cross near South Molton, was refused by North Devon Council in 2011.

The public inquiry, which ran for a month until 6 July, was reopened for one day on Thursday to consider highway safety issues.

Developer RWE Npower Renewables said the wind farm could power about 8,700 homes.
