Firearm possession admitted by Plymouth man in siege

A man has admitted possessing a firearm during an armed siege in Plymouth.

Gary Chapman, 49, from St Maurice Road, Plympton, was arrested at the property during the evening of 25 September.

Armed police and negotiators were called to his home and surrounding roads were cordoned off.

At Plymouth Crown Court Chapman pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm, an air rifle, with intent to cause fear of violence. He was bailed and will be sentenced in November.
