Two arrested after Plymouth shop shot at with pellet gun

Two youths have been arrested after armed police were called to a shooting incident involving a pellet gun in Plymouth city centre.

Officers were called after a landlord of a pub in Courtenay Street reported a group of youths used a hand gun to shoot the door of a nearby shop.

Two males were arrested for public order offences after the shooting at about 20:00 GMT on Thursday.

A BB gun was recovered, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

One male admitted firing the gun and will go through the restorative justice process, which sees offenders having to meet victims, police added.

The second arrested male was released with no further action.

Police said the use of a armed officers in such a situation was "standard procedure".
