North Tawton thatched cottages damaged by fire

A fire has destroyed the roofs of three thatched cottages in Devon.

The blaze started in one of the terraced properties in North Tawton, about eight miles from Okehampton, on Friday night.

Nine crews including, firefighters from Exeter, helped to tackle the flames. No-one was hurt.

Crews are still at the scene damping down after removing most of the thatch from the cottages, two of which were badly damaged.
