Bratton Clovelly thatched house fire tackled by crews

A blaze at a thatched house in Devon has been tackled by eight fire crews.

The fire broke out at the property in Bratton Clovelly, near Okehampton in Devon, at about 17:45 BST on Saturday.

Fire crews from Devon and Cornwall found the roof and the first floor well alight, Devon and Somerset Fire Service said.

Crews remained at the scene overnight to damp down and the house was checked by a building control officer to make sure it was safe, it added.

There were no reports of any injuries.
