Arrest after pedestrian killed on A38 at Lee Mill

A 57-year-old man has been arrested after a pedestrian was killed on a main road in Devon.

The 47-year-old man from Smithaleigh was struck by a van on the the A38 at Lee Mill, near Plymouth, at about 22:30 BST on Sunday.

He died at the scene and his next of kin have been informed, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

A man from Bristol was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care, officers added.
