Plymouth flat window fall toddler 'critical'
A toddler who fell from a fifth floor flat in Plymouth is in a critical condition in hospital.
The 15-month-old girl is being treated for internal injuries at Derriford Hospital in the city after falling from a bedroom window on Saturday morning.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the child was in a "critical but stable condition".
Officers are not treating the incident in Savage Road, Barne Barton, as suspicious.
Support for family
A neighbour, who declined to be named, said: "They are a lovely family."
Ward councillor Sally Bowie said: "My thoughts go out to the family and I wish the little girl all the best.
"It appears to have been a tragic accident and I can't imagine what they're going through."
Simon Clark, managing director of Sanctuary Housing Services which owns the block of flats, said: "We are doing all we can to assist the police in their investigations and our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time."
Messages of support were sent to the family on Facebook.
Karen Henson wrote: "Hope the poor girl's gonna be ok thoughts with her parents xx."
