Plymouth Dartmoor Rescue Group moves from garage to warehouse
After 17 years working from a garage, a charity which finds missing hikers on Dartmoor is moving to bigger premises.
The Plymouth branch of the Dartmoor Rescue Group is leasing a unit at Roborough for two years and hopes to raise £130,000 to buy the building.
Chairman, Colin Sturmer, said the garage was "not fit for purpose" following the expansion of the service.
The group has two vehicles, flood rescue equipment and a "huge amount of kit", members said.
Mr Sturmer said its previous base was a double garage in Southway which was built in 1996.
The new building is 1,500 sq ft (139.35 sq m) and was constructed in 2007.
