Teignmouth samurai sword siege: Man, 51, in care
A man who was arrested after a siege lasting 12 hours in Teignmouth, Devon has been placed into the care of mental health professionals.
Officers were called to a house in Fourth Avenue at about 13:45 BST on Wednesday after reports about a man with a samurai sword and a hammer.
Police entered the house at 01:50 BST and arrested a man on suspicion of threats to kill and threatening with a blade.
No-one was injured, they added.
The road was earlier cordoned off and armed police were at the scene.
