Lifejacket warning after six rescued off Exmouth

Six people - who had one lifejacket between them - have been rescued from a capsized motor boat.

A passing fishing boat and yacht rescued the two adults and four teenagers off Exmouth, Devon, on Sunday at about 13:15 BST, said the RNLI.

The group, who were checked by paramedics but not injured, were taken to Exmouth Marina.

Brixham Coastguard said all boat users should wear lifejackets.

Andy Huber said: "It's very serious. If you do not wear a lifejacket you have the chance of drowning."

The capsized boat was towed to Rodney Bay by the inshore lifeboat.
