'Heart attack' man rescued from a boat off Portland

A 78-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital following a suspected heart attack while fishing off Portland.

The man, who had a previous heart condition, was onboard an angling boat three miles (4.8km) offshore at Shambles Bank.

He was rescued by the coastguard helicopter, following advice from Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.

A paramedic stabilised the man before he was winched to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester.
