One man has died and five other people have been injured in a crash between a coach and a car in Dorset.

A single-decker coach with eight people on board was involved in a crash with a Ford Fiesta on the A357 near Shillingstone at about 1520 BST.

A large section of the road between Sturminster Newton and Blandford Forum was closed for several hours.

The man who died was the driver of the car. All the injured people were on board the coach.

The coach driver was airlifted to Dorset County Hospital with suspected neck injuries and bruising.

Diversions were put in place but the road has since reopened.
