Daughter arrested as woman's body found in Bournemouth

A 39-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murdering her mother who was found stabbed to death.

The victim, in her 60s, was found in Queensland Road, in the Pokesdown area of Bournemouth, Dorset, on Wednesday afternoon by paramedics.

She is thought to be from Salisbury in Wiltshire and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.

Dorset Police said the arrested woman had been bailed and transferred to a secure unit.

A police spokesman said detectives were not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

He said: "Although the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing Dorset Police, Bournemouth Borough Council and NHS Bournemouth and Poole can say that the incident was between two women from the same family.

"There is no further danger to members of the public from this incident."
