Inquest opens into climber's Dorset cliff fall

An inquest has been opened into the death of a 31-year-old Gloucestershire climber who fell about 60ft (18m) from a cliff in Dorset.

Portland Coastguard was alerted at 1405 BST on Saturday that Barry Humphries had fallen off a cliff at Blacknor Fort, Blacknor Point, on Portland.

Mr Humphries, from Cirencester, was flown to Dorset County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Dorset coroner opened and adjourned the inquest to a later date.
