Motorcyclist hurt in crash with police car in Dorset

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash with a police car in Dorset.

The man broke both arms in the collision which took place just before 2300 BST on Tuesday.

The two special constables from Dorset Police were responding to a report of shoplifting in Easton Lane, Portland.

The 18-year-old motorcyclist from Portland was taken to Dorset County Hospital. Neither officer was hurt in the crash.

Dorset Police has voluntarily referred the incident to the IPCC for investigation.
