Man airlifted to hospital after Dorset beach hut fall

A man was airlifted to hospital with head injuries by an RAF rescue helicopter after falling off the roof of a beach hut.

The 23-year-old fell just before 2300 BST on Friday close to the beach at Lyme Regis, Dorset.

Coastguard rescue officers were called out to prepare a landing site on the beach and they were supported by fire crews.

The man was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth for treatment.
