Fire tackled in Weymouth toilets

  • Published

Fire crews were called to tackle a fire in an underground toilet block in Weymouth, Dorset.

They were called to the public toilets near the old pier bandstand on the Esplanade, by Brunswick Terrace, at about 2230 BST on Tuesday.

When they arrived thick black smoke was billowing from the toilets and they had to call in a third fire crew.

Nobody was hurt and the cause is not yet known. The toilet block and a nearby vehicle were severely damaged.
