Ice warning as gritters keep Dorset roads clear of snow

Gritters in Dorset managed to keep roads clear overnight but a weather warning for ice is still in place.

Snow fell across the county during the early part of Friday night but clearing skies led to a widespread frost and icy stretches in some parts.

Dorset County Council sent out their gritters and Dorset Police said there were no accidents overnight and the roads had been kept clear.

Further snowfall is expected across the county on Sunday night.

Councillor Peter Finney, member for transport at Dorset County Council, said: "We will be closely monitoring conditions and are prepared to clear snow if it becomes heavier."
