Works to improve road junctions in Weymouth, Dorset, are due to begin this week.
The improvements, which are part of a wider transport scheme, include the construction of a central island in Harbour Junction, starting on Thursday.
The junction will be resurfaced and 24-hour four-way traffic lights will be in place until the work is complete.
Preparations are also due to begin on Wednesday for improvements to Kings Roundabout.
The Weymouth Transport Package is an £18m scheme to improve transport in the town for the 2012 Olympics and beyond.
