Woman's body recovered from River Stour

The body of a woman has been pulled from a river in Dorset.

Detectives said the body of the 78-year-old was recovered on Christmas Day from the River Stour at Christchurch.

Emergency crews were called to the river bank at Tuckton shortly after 1000 GMT. The RNLI also helped in the recovery operation.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been informed.
