Capsized kayak man treated for hypothermia in Weymouth

A 64-year-old man has been treated for hypothermia after his kayak capsized off the Dorset coast.

Coastguards were called to help the man who had got into difficulties about 200m (656ft) off Preston Beach in Weymouth shortly on Saturday morning.

Weymouth Rowing Club also responded to a call broadcast on the marine radio channel.

The man made it to shore but was suffering from hypothermia and was eventually taken home by ambulance.
