The horse was sedated while crews cut it free
A horse had to be sedated so firefighters could cut it free after three of its legs became trapped in a cattle grid in Dorset.
Firefighters were called to Rowe Hill in Holt, near Wimborne, shortly before 2230 GMT on Friday.
The 14-year-old horse, called Merlin, was cared for by its owner and a vet while firefighters used a saw and hydraulic equipment to free the animal.
The uninjured horse was lifted to safety and taken to a barn to recover.
