Poole's Chords bar licence revoked over crime fears

A bar and music venue in Dorset has had its licence revoked amid concerns about crime in and around the site.

Chords in Kingland Road, Poole, was "poorly managed" according to Dorset Police, who said there was evidence of drug use at the venue.

Officers said four serious assaults had taken place inside and directly outside the bar in 2010. Under 18s who had been drinking alcohol were also found there.

The licensees have 21 days to appeal against the decision.

The licence was revoked by the Borough of Poole licensing sub-committee.

The BBC attempted to contact the licensees but they did not immediately reply.
