Weymouth beach with Olympic view sells for £86,000
A beach which will have views of the 2012 Olympic sailing events in Portland harbour has sold for £86,000.
Castle Cove beach near Weymouth, part of the Unesco World Heritage Jurassic Coastline, was up for auction and had a guide price of £70,000.
The small sandy beach was owned by a family who allow public access and run a licensed kiosk.
The winning bidder said she wanted to preserve the beach in its current state.
The site has planning permission for an "eco-loo" and eight beach chalets or changing cubicles.
