Son in court over 'BBC presenter' death
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man believed to be a former BBC radio presenter.
Police said the dead man had not yet been formally identified but was thought to be Howard Winton Cooper, a former BBC Radio Sheffield presenter.
The man, in his 60s, was found in a flat in Ham Meadow, Marnhull, near Sturminster Newton, Dorset, on Friday.
His son Joseph Cooper, 23, appeared at Winchester Crown Court.
He was remanded in custody to appear before the same court on 25 July.
Police are waiting for the results of a post-mortem examination into how the man died.
The presenter, who left BBC Radio Sheffield about 15 years ago, was known professionally as Winton Cooper.
