Police officer stabbed in Dorset shopping centre

A police officer has been stabbed in the leg while attending an incident at a shopping centre in Dorset.

The officer was attacked at the Dolphin Centre in Poole on Saturday afternoon. She was treated for her injuries in Poole hospital before being released.

A 22-year-old woman, of no fixed abode, has been charged with wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm, a spokeswoman from Dorset Police said.

She is due to appear before Bournemouth magistrates on Monday.
