Cars damaged in Dorset police pursuit

A car which was being pursued ploughed into vehicles queuing on a dual carriageway, Dorset police have said.

Officers responding to reports of a stolen vehicle began following the Peugeot 307 on Sunday afternoon.

Police are now trying to trace motorists whose cars were struck as they queued on the A338 between Ashley Heath and Bournemouth.

Dorset Police said the Peugeot was stopped by a stinger device. A 46-year-old man has been arrested.

Det Con Adrian Turner, of Bournemouth CID, said: "I believe that a number of vehicles, which were queuing back along the A338 from the Ashley Heath roundabout towards Bournemouth, may have sustained damage as the green Peugeot 307 weaved in and out of traffic.

"I'm specifically appealing to the drivers or passengers of any of these vehicles, who haven't yet spoken with police, to contact me urgently."
