Three rescued from sinking speedboat off Rockley

Three people were rescued after a speedboat starting sinking in Dorset.

The trio were travelling between Rockley and Wareham Channel when the engine alarm sounded and they spotted water flooding into the 21ft boat.

Portland Coastguard helicopter attended after losing communication with the speedboat during a 999 call.

Poole Lifeboat found the stricken vessel off Russell Quay and towed it to safety after the alarm was raised at 13:15 BST on Saturday. No-one was hurt.
