Two men arrested following the discovery of a man's body at a Dorset beach have been released on bail.

The body of Rico Dardis, 30, was found in water near groynes at Seaway Avenue in Christchurch on Monday evening.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned with the cause of death undetermined.

Detectives said it was still being treated as a murder inquiry and they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

The two Bournemouth men, aged 49 and 51, had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police previously said Mr Dardis appeared to have sustained injuries caused by a boat propeller. A knife was also recovered at the scene.

In a statement released on Wednesday, his family said: "The death of Rico has caused us great distress and we are grieving for the tragic loss of a son, brother and father."
