Explosion on Happy Dragon ship injures two crew

Two crew members were airlifted to hospital after an explosion on a Dutch cargo ship in the English Channel.

The coastguard rescued the pair from the Happy Dragon, 50 miles south west of Portland at 10:30 BST. They had suffered facial injuries.

Portland Coastguard took the men to Dorchester County Hospital for treatment.

Happy Dragon is owned by Dutch company BigLift and was travelling from Aberdeen to Trieste in Italy.
