Man dies in two-car crash on A35 at Winterborne Abbas

A man has died and three people were hurt in a car crash on the A35 near Dorchester.

A Rover hatchback and Daihatsu 4x4 collided at Winterborne Abbas shortly after 08:00 BST.

The Rover driver, a 47-year-old man from Nottinghamshire, died. Two passengers, a 39-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman, both from Yeovil, sustained life-threatening injuries.

The Daihatsu driver was also seriously hurt.

The A35 was closed between the Monkey's Jump roundabout and Litton Cheney junction, but has since reopened.
