Water in gas pipes cuts supplies in Weymouth

More than 250 homes in Weymouth had gas supplies cut after water entered the gas pipe network.

Southern Gas Networks (SGN) said it was investigating the cause along with Wessex Water.

Engineers have been shutting down gas supplies at 260 houses in Seven Acres Road in the Preston area.

An advice centre has been set up at Preston Village Hall and electric hotplates and heaters are being given to elderly and vulnerable residents.
