A man has been charged with the murder of a woman found dead in her flat in Bournemouth.

The body of 41-year-old Sarah Pollock was found in the flat in Avon Close, Springbourne, on Wednesday, after she failed to turn up for work.

On Friday, a post-mortem examination found she had been strangled and stabbed in the neck.

Police said 52-year-old builder Colin Dymond, from Bournemouth, is due before the town's magistrates on Monday.

A family tribute, released through Dorset Police, said: "We have lost an important part of our lives - a kind, caring, honest, outgoing and ultimately indescribable daughter, sister and auntie from our close-knit family.

"She was unforgettable and she will always remain in our hearts and minds, although she should not be gone.

"We respectfully ask that we are left to grieve without intrusion and want to thank Dorset Police for their hard work so far in helping our distraught family."
