AFC Bournemouth are preparing for an open-top bus parade to celebrate their expected place in the Premier League.

The team have effectively sealed promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history after their 3-0 victory over Bolton on Monday.

Only defeat, a Middlesbrough win and a 20-goal swing on the final day of the season can deny them the promotion.

The parade on Bank Holiday Monday will begin at Boscombe Pier at 11:00 BST and end just east of Bournemouth Pier.

Thousands of people are expected to turn out to see the team.

Tony Williams, chief executive of Bournemouth Borough Council, said: "Reaching the Premier League is a hugely historic moment for the town and we are all so proud of the Club's very well-deserved success.

"We look forward to welcoming visitors from some of the Premier League's biggest clubs to our town next season."
