Road closed and five held after Weymouth attack

Part of a Dorset seaside town has been cordoned off following an alleged attack on a teenager.

The 17-year-old boy suffered facial injuries in the incident which happened in the early hours in Weymouth town centre.

The injured boy, from Dorchester, was taken to Dorset County Hospital. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

Dorset Police said five people had been arrested.

A man, aged 18, and a 20-year-old woman are being held on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Three others, a 21-year-old man and two women, aged 19 and 24, are being held on suspicion of assault.

Bath Street in Weymouth town centre was closed after the incident.
