A bricklayer who was crushed when a wall collapsed on him at a site in Dorset died as a result of severe head injuries, an inquest has heard.

Thomas Telfer, 31, of Portland, died following the industrial incident at Chatterton Heights building site on Somers Road, Lyme Regis, in June 2015.

An inquest jury at County Hall, Dorchester, said the method of the wall's construction and a "lack of support" had caused it to collapse.

It concluded the death was an accident.

The father-of-two's family previously described Mr Telfer as a "shining light" and added: "His light will continue to shine through his children."

The Health and Safety Executive said a decision regarding potential criminal proceedings would be taken shortly.
