A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car was driven at two nightclub staff.

Police were called to Halo on Exeter Road, Bournemouth at 02:19 GMT following an "altercation" between the club's staff and two men.

The arrested man, aged 19 from Blandford, is also being questioned on suspicion of a driving offence.

A second man, aged 21, from Poole was arrested on suspicion of assault. Both men remain in custody.

Police said the two staff members and a third man suffered injuries that are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

The road remains closed from Gervis Place to the nightclub and a cordon is in place.

Dorset Police is appealing for information from anyone who saw the black Vauxhall Corsa or was in the area at the time.
