Residents were left without water and motorists faced long delays after a water main burst in Dorset.

About 200 Wareham properties in Northport Drive were affected by the burst main in Morden Road, which partially collapsed.

The A351, between Wareham flyover and Wareham Golf Club, also flooded and was shut for most of the day.

The road was reopened at about 20:00 BST, the Travel Dorset service reported.

Wessex Water said residents in the Northport Drive area were either left without water or experienced low pressure after the main burst at about 06:00.

A spokesman said the pipe had since been repaired and water supplies were restored by 14:00.
