An investigation is under way after a fire broke out at a Ryvita factory in Dorset.

Six crews tackled the fire, which started at about 08:10 BST, in the building where the firm's crispbread is made, off Old Wareham Road, Poole.

The Jordans and Ryvita Company said there was "light smouldering" in one of its food compactors.

No employees are thought to have been inside at the time and no-one was injured.

A company spokesman said: "Fire services were called to our site in Poole earlier today, when we experienced light smouldering in a food compactor.

"The incident was quickly dealt with and production at the site is up and running as usual."
