Five charged after man stabbed in Rayleigh


Five people have been charged in connection with an incident in which a man was stabbed in Rayleigh in Essex.

The 32-year-old victim was attacked in a shop on Downhall Road on 23 June.

Two men, a woman and two teenage boys have been charged with a number of offences and were released on police bail.

Four of them will appear before magistrates in Southend on 18 August while one of the boys will appear before the same court on 12 August.

Wounding charges

Those charged include a 44-year-old man charged with wounding with intent, affray and possession of an offensive weapon and a 43-year-old woman charged with affray and common assault.

A 19-year-old man from east London has been charged with wounding with intent and affray.

A 15-year-old boy from Rayleigh has been charged with affray and common assault and a 17-year-old boy from Rayleigh has been charged with a public order offence.

A 23-year-old man who was also arrested at the time of the incident has been released from his bail without charge.
