Essex Council could cut redundancy pay

An Essex council has proposed to cut the payout staff receive when made redundant.
Tendring District Council will also look at reducing the three-year salary protection period for employees moved to a lower-paid post.
The human resources committee will decide whether to approve plans at the meeting in Clacton later.
Union Unison said it disagreed with "any proposal to reduce the current level of redundancy payments".
