Man held over Chelmsford stabbing attack

A man has been arrested by police investigating a stabbing in an Essex alleyway.
A 30-year-old man from Chelmsford was stabbed in an alley between Short Street and Kenway in Southend shortly before 1800 BST on Saturday.
He is in a serious but stable condition in Southend General Hospital.
A 29-year-old man from Southend has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and is in police custody.
